Apple is selling the Beats X headphones for $349.99 well over the usual starting price at select Apple Stores starting this Friday, January 28. However, the shoes retail for up to $1,149.99 significantly more than its predecessors, the Beats Solo and the AirPods. That’s because, over the past couple of years, Apple has been moving to lower its $399 starting price on iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Plus cases though not the AirPods. The Beats X will be limited to first-come, first-serve during the event (which starts at 9 PM EST), while the Beats Solo, AirPods and more will be listed on Apple’s online storefront beginning Friday, January 28 at 12:01 AM (EST).
Apple is selling Apple Watch Sport’s and Apple Watch Sport Edition’s for about $299.95 per pair. Apple is also selling MacBook Pro with Retina display with a starting price of $1,099.
The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro came out during 2013 for about half that. Even a MacBook Pro with touch screen is in the same price range. The Pro 15-inch model goes for $1,099 and comes with a 1.8GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB RAM and a 256GB PCIe-based SSD.
Apple is selling four new $1,299.95 Apple Watch Series 4 Sport straps for $249. These include leather, mesh, metal and carbon fiber. The $1,299.95 Apple Watch Series 4 Sport watch straps are paired with $149.95 Apple Watch Edition strap which Apple introduced last fall. Apple is also selling new, Sport Loop style Apple Watch bands at the same $199 price point.
The iPhone X and iPhone XS were both expected to be available by the holiday season and are now available.
